When people ask me why I love being a wedding photographer I will always use example reasons from Britt + Jon’s wedding day. The love these two share for each other is indescribable. One of the sweetest moments of the entire day was right before the ceremony when both Britt + Jon were surrounded by their closest friends and family for a prayer circle. The prayers their friends said over them right before they walked down the aisle brought me to tears! It brings me so much joy that these two will be starting their lives together as husband and wife with an incredibly supportive team.
Other moments from this day that stand out in my mind are the nonstop smiles that Jon had on his face when talking about Britt! He was so excited to see his soon to be wife walk down the aisle and it made my heart melt! Both Britt + Jon are the first of their siblings to get married so there was extra excitement in the air from both families.
These two lovebirds got engaged on February 29th of this year (leap year) and had planned on having a bigger wedding with more friends and family but Covid-19 had other plans. Instead, they held a small intimate ceremony at Oak Tree Manor and live-streamed it for their extended friends and family. It was such a cool feeling knowing that even though their original guest list wasn’t able to physically be there they were still able to celebrate them on their big day virtually.
And that’s what I loved most about Britt + Jon’s wedding day. It didn’t matter that their original plans were canceled because of Covid, they just wanted to take the next step and become husband and wife. Marriage is about loving someone so much that you choose everyday to be on their team. Marriage is about standing up in front of your friends and family (and thanks to tech this can be done virtually) to vow to one another that you will always and forever be on each other’s teams. To support one another through thick and through thin, for better or for worse.
I am so incredibly happy for Britt + Jon and for the life you two are about to start with one another. I wish you both safe travels on your Honeymoon as you road trip across Texas and will always be here for you throughout your marriage to help document your one of a kind love story
