WHAT’S THE STORY BEHIND THESE HOMELIFE SESSIONS?
Homeownership has always been more than just a physical space for me; it’s a sanctuary that heals and shapes us. Achieving this dream at 24 was a milestone inspired by my 13-year-old self’s aspirations.
Selling my house at 29 to expand my photography business was a significant sacrifice, as it meant moving back in with family and not having a place to truly call my own.π€β€οΈπ‘π
This June, in a serendipitous turn of events, I now call the perfect one-bedroom apartment in Austin βhomeβ, and I am thrilled to finally be a resident to this vibrant city. Join me in celebrating this milestone by entering for a chance to win a Homelife Photo Session! π₯³ππΈ

BOOK OF THE MONTH: “The Little Frog’s Guide To Self-Care” by Maybell Eequay — I chose this book for June because tbh 3 years ago June was a very difficult month for my mental health and this little book is the perfect short read that can change the trajectory of your day quickly. The affirmations hit home and love the drawings.
MONTHLY NEWSLETTER PLAYLIST // This month I decided on 13 songs that were either on repeat during this month in prior years and have helped me get through seasons of life.
TOP 10 FAVORITE SONGS FOR JUNE 2024:
QUOTE OF THE MONTH: “Practice everyday until someday becomes today” – Emily Wischnewsky
I created this quote back in 2018 when I first started my Photography Business. I was still working my full time job and building a side hustle in my spare time after hours and on the weekends. This little phrase kept me going and reminded me that even taking one small step each day would help me reach my goals. I still have it hanging up in my office today.
WORD OF THE MONTH: Words are the foundation of human communication and expression. They allow us to convey our thoughts, feelings, ideas, and experiences to others, creating a bridge between our inner world and the external reality. Every word carries its own unique power and nuance, shaping the way we perceive and interact with the world. Having a “Word of the Month” has been me a source of inspiration, sparked creative thinking, and promoted my love for language. This month’s word is “persistent”.
Persistent: (adjective) continuing to do something or to try to dosomething even though it is difficult or other people want you to stop.
Example: Emily’s persistent dedication and hard work were key in building her successful photography business from the ground up.
RECIPE OF THE MONTH: Bacon Baked Potato + Caramel Toffee Crunch Icecream
This section of the newsletter is dedicated to my Mom, who loves cooking our favorite Cajun recipes that were passed down to her from her Mom, my MawMaw. This month though I’ll be sharing a super quick and easy recipe in honor of me moving to Austin a few weeks ago! I don’t have my kitchen set up entirely yet so those first few nights I was working with very limited ingredients; a russet potato, a pound of turkey bacon, garlic salt seasoning, and butter. The final touch was the icecream, which I didn’t make from scratch lol that was definitely store bought, but vital to the meal nonetheless. If you’re moving to a new city too and haven’t set up your kitchen but still want to make a quick meal, I hope you enjoy this one π from my kitchen to yours —
INGREDIENTS:
1-2 russet potatos
1 lb turkey bacon
Garlic salt to season
1/2 stick butter
